Laxmi campus, an only higher education institution of Kachankawal Rural Municipality, Jhapa, Nepal is a non-profit community campus. Having commitment and determination of the community with the limited resources established it in 2066 B.S is ensured to enhance quality education to those students from different social and low economic background offering them four years B.ED and BBS educational programs with a minimum tuition fees. Despite of facing appropriate resources, the campus has set a goal to strengthen LC as an epicenter of generating qualified human resources by identifying needs of the society, developing essential infrastructure and exchanging experiences with other academic institution for the effective teaching learning process internalizing the current innovation and technology.
Laxmi Campus, TU affiliated campus, located in the eastern southern border of jhapa District, was established in 2066 B.S with the light of three years BED program. The additional educational program; four years BBS permitted to run in 2070 B.S. It has facilitated in enhancing and accessing higher education particularly to under privileged communities like Rajbanshi, Gangain, Muslim, Scheduled caste, deprived communities and so on. The exciting fact is 75% of total students are girls who are economically marginalized. The self-satisfactory fact is to share that daughters of Muslim community never think of studying far but the nearest campus has fulfilled need of higher education fundamentally required to them. The institution has produced numerous graduates who couldn't achieve their certificate in the absence of it because their parents couldn't afford expenses 20 k. m. away in city colleges, have performed their talent in terms of securing their career and contributing for the positive transformation of the society.
The campus is ever set to focus on teaching learning activity as per the psychology of the students and innovation of modern education system. active learning, inquiry-based learning, discussion-based learning, practice-based learning, and collaborative learning are continuously applying to arouse the interest of learning. It essentially focuses on research-based teaching learning activities adopting emerging new ideas and information technology in the field of education. Research writing as an essential part of higher-level study has increased the cognitive skill of the students and empowered the academic capability of the faculties of the campus.
As an era of information communication technology, digitalization of the campus is a key component of current need of the time. The campus and UGC have done memorandum of understanding (MOU) in 2081/09/05 on higher Education Grants. It is a rare opportunity for us. Digitalization in education is to improve accessibility, increased efficiency, enhance collaboration and connectivity, and facilitation of continuous learning. We strive to provide a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the classroom, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities, community service, and internships to develop a well-rounded skill set. The preliminary preparations of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) process of campus have been completed and soon will reach to the final stage of implementation; it will be a crucial milestone for the long-term stability of Laxmi Campus. In conclusion, our collective efforts are shaping the future of quality education in such a remote geography. Together, let’s create a legacy of learning ecosystem, one that will empower generations to come and uplift Laxmi Campus as a beacon of knowledge and progress on the global stage.
The campus management committee, campus administration and teachers work as an integrated team for the institutional stability of the campus and have a serious concern for the character building, personality and career development of the students. The graduates produced from this campus are becoming eligible to grab employment opportunities in different private and government sectors which have been managed as alumni in the website of the campus. The relationship between campus and community has maintained cordially and made stronger bond that the community has proudly accepted and benefitted the importance of campus. It also enhances to foster social, cultural and economic benefits for young people and community.
